My Unit One Writing pieces 

Free writes: My first free write was about my experience with language and literacy based on my findings from the text What Is Literacy? I also wrote another free write about June Jordan and Chimamanda Adichie, which talks about standard English and my own experience with single stories. 

Final College Essay: In my personal college essay, I wrote about my struggles with my cultural identity and the effects it has on my life. 

Imaginative writing: For our week six assignment we had to create a dialogue script that included three composers we worked with throughout the unit. This proved to be one of the more difficult assignments that allowed me to utilize my creativity in my writing. 

Unit One Project: For my final project for the unit, I decided to write about the relationship between power and language. People are often quick to decipher who is the powerful vs the powerless, but what about the voices that enable this ongoing relationship? My writing piece is called The Power of Complicity.
